When she began her education in 1969, medicine wasn’t her calling, but soon after Gail Weingast attended Jackson College, Tufts University, in Medford, Massachusetts and earned a degree in Spanish, she turned her attention to studies for a medical degree from the Boston University School of Medicine. She officially became Gail Weingast MD in 1976. These days, Dr. Gail Weingast is one of the top radiology specialists in the country. She has been at William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, Connecticut for more than 20 years and she is now the Chief of Ultrasound and Breast Imaging. In her position, she has been able to guide her department into its current position as a premiere medical facility. In all, it has been her nearly four decades o education and experience that has given her the edge.
